• For Foundation Course: Candidates should have passed class 10 or equivalent from a recognized board.
• For Intermediate Course: Candidates should have passed the Foundation Course of ICMAI or should be a graduate in any discipline other than fine arts.
• For Final Course: Candidates should have passed the Intermediate Course of ICMAI.
The CMA course consists of three stages:
• Foundation Course: Four papers
• Intermediate Course: Eight papers divided into two groups
• Final Course: Eight papers divided into two groups
Exams for each stage are conducted twice a year, usually in June and December, by the ICMAI.
Candidates typically prepare for the CMA exams using study materials provided by the ICMAI, including textbooks, practice questions, and online resources. Many candidates also opt for coaching classes offered by various educational institutions.
Similar to the CA course, practical training is a part of the CMA course. Candidates are required to complete a prescribed period of practical training under a practicing Cost Accountant.
